FAQs
What is behavioural therapy and how can it help my child?
Behavioural therapy focuses on helping children develop meaningful skills that support their communication, social interaction, independence, and emotional regulation. At Intuition, we use evidence-based strategies to build communication, social skills, positive behavior, and independence.
Why do you provide support in schools and real-life settings?
Children learn best when skills are taught in the environments where they are expected to use them. Real progress happens in classrooms, playgrounds, and everyday interactions.
Why is 1:1 support in school important for social and play skills?
Social skills require knowing when and how to use them with others. A therapist can support children during real interactions, helping them build confidence and independence.
Why isn’t teaching social skills in a clinic or 1:1 setting enough?
Children may learn a skill in a structured setting but struggle to use it in real life. Real environments help with generalisation and flexibility.
How do you help children build friendships and interact with peers?
We create opportunities for interaction, guide communication, and support children through challenges while collaborating with school staff.
Will my child become dependent on having a therapist with them?
No. Our goal is independence. Support is gradually reduced as your child gains confidence.
Do you also provide support outside of school?
Yes. We support children in homes, schools, and community settings to ensure skills transfer across environments.
Is this approach supported by research?
Yes. Research shows children learn best in natural environments with peers through real-life interactions.
